While Murray-Calloway County Hospital’s Blood Donor Center needs all blood types, the center is in critical need of O-Negative blood.
Area residents can donate blood by attending an upcoming blood drive, or by making an appointment at the Blood Donor Center on the first floor of the North Tower at the hospital.
A blood donor must be at least 18 (or as young as 16 with parental consent), be in good health, must weigh at least 110 pounds, and pass the brief physical and health history exams prior to donation.
Donors can make appointments at the Blood Donor Center or participate at the next community drive, today, 5-8 p.m. at Hazel Baptist Church, 301 Gilbert Highway in Hazel. To reach the Blood Donor Center, call 270-762-1119.
