Diabetes sessions coming to Carlisle

The Purchase District Health Department, in collaboration with the Carlisle County Cooperative Extension Service, will offer a series of diabetes education classes starting in August.

The four-class series will provide patients and/or caregivers with vital information about managing diabetes through a range of topics including coping with diabetes, medications, meal planning, prevention, treatment of high and low blood sugars, and physical activity. Classes will be facilitated by diabetes educators Julie Muscarella, RD, LD, and DeAnna Leonard, RN.

Classes will be held 9:30 a.m. to noon, Aug. 15, 22, 29 and Sept. 5, at the Carlisle County Extension Office. There is no charge for the classes.
