Patricia “Pat” Galvin, 87, of Paducah, passed away at 3:11 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at Superior Care Home.
She graduated from St. Mary of the Woods College in Terre Haute, IN., with the class of 1949. Her career for 44 years was working at Bradshaw and Weil Insurance Company until her retirement.
As a hobby, Pat made beautiful handmade needlepoint Christmas ornaments for each family member. She did this for 20 years giving the family a wonderful collection to treasure.
Patricia was a long time and faithful member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. As an active church volunteer, Patricia and her two sisters, Mary and Jean, served 15 years for funeral receptions at St. Thomas More. For their service each of the three sisters received the Sophia Award.
She is survived by her two sisters, Anita Jean Galvin, and Mary Galvin, both of Paducah; two brothers, Thomas Galvin and his wife Mary Frances of Paducah, John Galvin and his wife Maureen of Madison, IN.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Leslie Galvin and Agnes F. Flynn Galvin.
Funeral Mass for Ms. Galvin will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Rev. J. Patrick Reynolds officiating.
Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Visitation for Ms. Galvin will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 1, 2013, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, with prayers at 5:00 p.m.
