PRINCETON — Jim Ed Lewis, 87, of Princeton died at 10:27 a.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2013, at his home.
He was a retired maintenance supervisor for General Motors. He was a member of American Legion and Elks Club. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Ann Mitchell Lewis; two sons, Burt Lewis and John W. Lewis, both of Mount Airy, N.C.; three daughters, Peggy Lee Dowdy and Donna Denis Lewis, both of Mount Airy, and Virginia Pettit of Caldwell County; two stepchildren, Claudia A. Eisenmann of Westchester, Pa., and Andrew Eisenmann of Palm Springs, Calif.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Tommye Middleton of Clarksville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Powell Lewis and Bessie Bell White Lewis.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 3, 2013, at Morgan’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Russ Davidson officiating.
Burial will be in Millwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
