John A. Coffie, 88, of Paducah died at 12:35 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2013, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Paducah.
He was a member of St. John African Methodist Episcopal Church, where he served as a steward and was a retiree of Smith Construction.
He is survived by three sons, Earl Coffie and Ronnie Coffie, both of Paducah, and John A. Coffie Jr. of Detroit; two daughters, Gloria J. Coffie of Paducah and Rose Marie Bowden of Nashville, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Corine Lacy Coffie; his second wife, Ruthie Mae Coffie Morris; one daughter, Anna Wilburn; one son, Robert Edward Coffie; seven brothers; and four sisters. His parents were Luke Coffie and Florence S. Coffie.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home with Rev. Alfred Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
