MURRAY — Wilma Jo Lovins Gannon, 84, of Murray died Wednesday, October 23, 2013, at Spring Creek Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She graduated from Murray Teachers College and earned her master’s degree in Chapel Hill, N.C. She was a teacher in Colorado Springs, Colo., and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and St. John’s Episcopal Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Laura Young of Jacksonville, Fla.; three sons, Brian Gannon of Louisville, Kevin Gannon of Murray, and Mark Gannon of Charlotte, N.C.; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard “Bern” A. Gannon Jr.; one son, Bernard “Andy” Gannon III; and one brother. Her parents were Willie Otis and Esther Mae (Blalock) Lovins.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 27, 2013, at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with Rev. Rose Bogal-Allbritten officiating. Burial will follow in New Concord Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
