Dorothy Holland Warren, after a long full life, arrived safely to her Heavenly home to live healthy and whole in the presence of her Savior, Jesus.
She quietly and peacefully exited her body on October 23 at 1:03 p.m. at the age of 90. She was a member of Dexter-Hardin Methodist Church.
She also attended Heritage Bible Church in Possum Trot.
Dorothy worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Hardin, Kentucky and as secretary for Hardin Elementary School.
She also helped her husband of 59 years, Glenn Warren, manage Wades Creek Farms, their farming business and place of residence. She served faithfully at B.A.S.I.C. Ministries in Hardin for 32 years, loving on everyone who passed through.
She was best known for her contagious laughter, compassion, and service to others and will be missed by so many who loved her.
The family is forever grateful to Amanda Cain, Tanya Cain, Suzanne Cass, Rhondia Cox, Linda Lampkins and Cathy Taylor, who lovingly provided and devoted themselves to the care and support of Dorothy over the past year. Thank you to Dr. Terri Telle and her staff as well as Lourdes Hospice for all the service provided that made Dorothy’s life so much better.
She is survived by son, Bob Warren and daughter-in-law Kim Middleton Warren of Hardin, KY.; grandson, Benjamin Warren, Hardin, KY.; and stepsister, Wanda Germaine, Hot Springs, AR.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grundy Holland and Bessie Hindman Holland; husband, Glenn Warren; brother, Robert Holland; and stepsister, Lavora Williams.
Funeral service will be at Collier Funeral Chapel at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 26, 2013, with Kevin Gaunce and Bob Warren officiating. Burial will follow in the Wadesboro Cemetery.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013, at the Collier Funeral Home.
