MURRAY — Virginia Chesser, 89, of Cookeville, Tenn., formerly of Murray, died Monday, October 21, 2013, at Masters Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center in Cookeville.
She retired as a Headstart teacher in the Jefferson County school system. She was a member of the Eastern Star and First Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Diana McDuffee of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Linda Yount and Debbie Seay, both of Cookeville; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel L. Chesser Jr., and one brother. Her parents were John Haskins Seay Sr. and Lena Brackett Seay.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2013, at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with the Rev. Boyd Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Murray City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, October 26, 2013, at the funeral home.
