KARNAK, Ill. — Darrell Bond, age 57, of Karnak passed away at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at his home in Karnak.
Darrell was born November 9, 1955, in Anna, the son of Noah and Norma Slankerd Bond.
Darrell had retired in 2011 as a chemical operator for Honeywell in Metropolis. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Karnak and a member of the Masonic Lodge Post 91 in Metropolis.
He is survived by one son, Darren (Marlena) Bond of Grand Chain; one daughter, Brandie Bond of Ullin; two sisters, Judy (Rex) Neill of Karnak and Lora (Michael) Colboth of Sumter, South Carolina; one stepdaughter, Vanesa (Richie) Sickling of Perks; one granddaughter, Paisley Sommer of Ullin; two grandsons, Noah James and Blaze Lynn Bond of Grand Chain; two stepgranddaughters, Makayla and Lauren Sickling of Perks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Norma Slankerd Bond.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 21, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak. The Rev. Jerry Parr will be officiating. Interment will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Belknap.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2013, at the funeral home.
