King, Janis Marie Gover, 76, wife of J. Ralph King, passed away Fri, Oct 4, 2013, at Baptist Health Lexington.
Born in Somerset, she was a daughter of the late Glen and Marie Coleman Gover. A graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Education, she was a retired teacher for the Virginia Public Schools. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church.
Besides her husband, survivors include two sons, James Ralph King, Jr., Durham, N.C., and Jeffrey Allen (Cynthia) King, Lake Worth, FL.; three grandchildren, James Ralph King, Caroline Marie King, and Nicholas Brandt King, all of Lake Worth, FL.; a sister, Jean (Thomas) Watkins, Lexington; a brother, Glen Gover, Jr., Berea; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews whom were very special to her.
A Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m. Tue, Oct. 8, 2013, at Centenary United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at the church.
A private family burial will be in the Lexington Cemetery. Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, Harrodsburg Rd., Lexington, is in charge of arrangements.
