CLINTON — Alvin Debose, 79, of Clinton died at 10:01 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at Golden Living Center in Union City, Tenn. Mr. Debose was a lead foreman at Jakel, Inc., and a Clinton police officer. He was a member of Green Valley Missionary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie Crume Debose; a daughter, Anita Yancy of Grenada, Miss.; a son, Robert Slater of Grenada, Miss.; three brothers, Alonzo Debose of Virginia Beach, Va., and Amos and Anderson Debose, both of Cleveland, Ohio; three sisters, Ada Moore of Chicago, and Ida Mae Harper and Rose Marie Collier, both of Los Angeles; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters; one brother; and one stepdaughter, Janice Jones. His parents were Amos and Ruby Johnson Debose.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, October 6, 2013, at Green Valley Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Eugene McDonald officiating. Burial will be in Clinton Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Sunday at the church. Brown Funeral Home in Clinton is in charge of arrangements.
