CALVERT CITY — Hershel C. Haley, 87, of Calvert City died at 10:47 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2013, at Baptist Health Paducah.
He retired from Ironworkers local 782 in Paducah. He was a member of F&AM Lodge in Calvert City. He served during WWII as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Calvert City.
He is survived by his wife, Doris A. (Noles) Haley; three daughters, Phyllis O’Bryan and Reah Ivey, both of Calvert City, and Debra Dowdy of Kevil; two sisters, Margret Dovie Jarvis of Reidland and Glenda Sue Gough of Hickory; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers. His parents were Elijah Haley and Martha (Johnson) Haley.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2013, in the chapel of Collier Funeral Home with the Revs. Bruce Watts and Jim Ewing officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Marshall County Memory Gardens in Benton.
Friends may visit with the family from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at the funeral home.
