Rev. James M. “Buster” Rodgers
Rev. James M. “Buster” Rodgers, 76, of Paducah went home to be with the Lord at 9:11 p.m. Monday, September 23, 2013, at Lourdes hospital.
Mr. Rodgers was a painting contractor for 45 years. He was a Baptist minister for 58 years. He loved painting, gardening, being a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and going to church. Above all that he loved God the most, God was always his #1 priority. Is God #1 with you?
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma (Emery) Rodgers; sons, Jim “Roy” Rodgers of Paducah and Billy Rodgers and wife Anna of Paducah; daughters, Norma Diann Rodgers of Paducah and Ruby Rodgers of Paducah; brother, Jack Rodgers of Reidland; grandchildren, Whitney Cumbie and husband Dustin, Kayla Hays and husband Matt, Zach Rodgers, Kristen Rodgers and Bryce Rodgers; and great-grandchildren, Kynlee Hays and Carson Hays.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Rodgers; mother, Ira Etta (Smith) Sizemore; three brothers; and one great-grandchild, Lilly Cumbie.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2013, at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Billy Rodgers and the Rev. Tim Bertram officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery of Paducah.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Thursday, September 26, 2013, at the funeral home.
