Larry “Happy” Hayden went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 24th, 2013, at his home in Marshall County. He was 62 years old. Happy worked as a conductor for Illinois Central Railroad and as the plant superintendent at CC Metals and Alloys. He was a member of Briensburg Baptist Church and enjoyed sports and the outdoors. More than anything in the world, he loved his family.
Mr. Hayden was also a member of the National Guard.
He was the son of the late Eugene Hayden and the late Helen (Gamble) Hayden.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Holly McKim Hayden; their three children; seven grandchildren; and his sister, Charlotte Sherrill. Seth Hayden and his wife, Bayleigh, live in Cincinnati, Ohio, and are expecting their first daughter, Sean Hayden and his wife, Caroline, live in Nashville, Tenn., and have three children, Luke, Kellen, and Emery, Heather Hayden and her fiancĂŠ Lance Robertson live in Calvert City, and have three children, Hunter Schroader, Lake and Landon Robertson.
Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, P.O. Box 492, Benton, KY.
Funeral service will be at Collier Funeral Chapel at 12 p.m. noon Friday, September 27, 2013. The Rev. George Culp and the Rev. Brad Walker officiating.
Visitation will be held at Collier Funeral Home Thursday, September 26, 2013, between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
