BROOKPORT, Ill. — Joe Ed Klankey, 99, of Brookport, Ill., passed away Thursday, September 19, 2013, at Lourdes hospital.
Jo Ed was born August 17, 1914. He was the son of Clara Klankey.
Funeral services will be Sunday, September 22, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Aikins-Farmer Brookport Chapel with Scott Darnell officiating; burial will follow in Pell Cemetery.
Joe Ed is survived by three sons, Bobby Klankey and wife Margaret of Paducah, Jimmy Klankey and wife Joanie and Gary Klankey, both of Brookport, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Kathy Baker and Janet Tucker, both of Brookport, Ill.; two stepsons, Thomas Tucker of Brookport, Ill., and Mike Tucker of Campbell, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, Tammy Brown, Tim Klankey, Rick Klankey, Kayla Ciefli, Kristal Carpenter, Julie Hite, Brent Fredrickson, Tammy Jackson, Lee Edminson, Justin Baker, Daniel Baker; 10 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother; his 1st wife Ruby (Medley) Klankey; and his 2nd wife, Mildred (Rose) Klankey.
Joe Ed was of the Baptist faith. He worked as a commercial fisherman in Kentucky and Illinois. He loved the outdoors.
