Jack Garland, 81, of Paducah, passed away at 8:51 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
Mr. Garland was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church, a retired owner of Jack’s Chevron, was a door greeter and worked the gas pumps at Sam’s Club in Paducah.
Mr. Garland is survived by his wife of 54 years, Wanda Pearl Turner Garland; one son, Johnny Garland of Paducah; two grandchildren, John Mark Garland of St. Louis, Mo., and Apryl Kay Garland of South Bend, Ind.; one sister, Jessie Lawing of Nebo, N.C.; one brother, James Garland of Houston, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Kay Garland; one sister; and four brothers. His parents were Clayton and Rosie Ettie Stockton Garland.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013, at Lone Oak First Baptist Church with Dr. Dan Summerlin officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Kenton Cemetery.
The Garland family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2013, at Lone Oak First Baptist Church and Saturday, September 21, 2013, from 12 p.m. until service time of 2 p.m. at Lone Oak First Baptist Church.
The Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
