Floyd Wiley Hook Sr.
Floyd Wiley Hook Sr., 81, of Paducah, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013, at 4:12 p.m. at Lourdes hospital.
Floyd was born in Madisonville, February 26, 1932, to the late Wylie Robert Hook and Eileen Marie Putnam Hook. Floyd served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was a member of American Legion and Disabled American Veterans, where he also volunteered. He retired from Environmental Control with the city of Chicago. Floyd worked for Johnson Real Estate maintaining and repairing their properties. He was also a member of First Baptist Church, Nortonville.
Floyd is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Lou Griffith Hook; three daughters, Brenda Aviles and husband Edmundo Aviles Sr., Linda Montgomery and husband Robin Denney, and Trudy Helton, all of Paducah; two sons, Floyd Wayne Hook and wife Delores and Bobby Hook and wife Donna, all of Paducah; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Charlie Hook and wife Glenda of Henderson and Alvin Hook and wife Ruby of Nortonville.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carolyn Ann Hook; son-in-law, Kenny Helton; two sisters, Virginia Todd and Beulah Hook; one brother, Lonnie Hook; and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 15, 2013, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Harper officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 14, 2013, from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
