Lewis E. Hill
BASEHOR, Kan. — Lewis E. Hill, age 91, of Basehor, Kan., formerly of West Paducah, passed away at 9:31 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2013, at Presbyterian Manor in Kansas City, Kan.
Mr. Hill was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in West Paducah where he served as the church treasurer for over 20 years. He was a welder for Union Carbide and B.F. Goodrich and was a veteran in the U.S. Army, having served in WWII. He dearly loved his church, friends and neighbors.
He is survived by his daughters, Vivian Scott and husband Robert of St. Louis, Mo., Rebecca Hines and husband Rev. Russell Hines of Basehor, Kan.; his son, James Edward White of West Paducah; his brother, Charlie Hill of Paducah; his grandchildren, Kevin Lee Simmons of Warson Woods, Mo., Ginger Renee Brown of Overland Park, Kan., Timothy Joel Hines of Overland Park, Kan., and Joe White of Paducah; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maybelle Patrick Hill; and his son, Carl Brent Hill. His parents were Maurice Hill and Gladys (Carneal) Hill.
Funeral services for Lewis E. Hill will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Russell Hines officiating. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery.
Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at the funeral home.
