Mary Jo Buchanan, 77, of Paducah, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2013, at 1:40 a.m. at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Mary Jo was born November 27, 1935, in Detroit, Michigan, to Charles and Ruby Bennett. She was trained as a Registered Nurse and retired after fifteen years of employment with Western Baptist Hospital. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Paducah for fifty years and served with their Clothes Closet. An avid quilter, she has gifted many people with her handiwork. She enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. One of her greatest joys was helping with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Yates and Connie Kaler and husband Ted, all of Paducah; her sons, Stephen and Rollie Buchanan and wife Christal, all of Paducah; her grandchildren, Tony English, Kimberly Buchanan, Katie Yates, Alison Kaler, Delaney Buchanan, Aaron Kaler and Elijah Buchanan; and her great-grandson, Brandon English.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Frank Buchanan; her parents, Charles Everett and Ruby Wright Bennett; and her sister, Wilma Lois Croft.
Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Brian Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
