KANKAKEE, Ill. — Norman Blomer, 81, of Bourbonnais, Ill., passed away Friday, September 6, 2013, at home.
Norman was born August 10, 1932, in Pope County, Ill., to Ben and Alice (Green) Blomer. He married Eula Mae Martin March 28, 1952, in High Point, N.C. Eula died March 30, 2005. He retired from General Motors Fisher Body Plant in Willow Springs in 1991 after 25 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Norman is survived by two daughters, Martha (Kenneth) Noble of Bourbonnais and Norma (David) Keltner of Park Forest, Ill.; one son, Norman (Denise) Blomer Jr. of Tennessee; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; special friend, Barb Cook of Metropolis, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A gathering time for friends and family will be held Monday, September 9, 2013, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Schreffler Life Story Funeral Home’s Bourbonnais Chapel. Norman’s funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Schreffler’s Bourbonnais Chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Kankakee Memorial Gardens, Aroma Township.
