MAYFIELD — Mr. Gary Huston Elliott, 62, of Mayfield passed away at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013, at his residence.
He was a member of the High Point Baptist Church. He was plant records administrator for WK&T in Mayfield, where he was employed for 39 years. He was a graduate of Mayfield High School and Murray State University with a bachelor’s degree in industrial arts. He was past chairman and lifetime board member of Mayfield-Graves County Chapter of the American Red Cross, a Certified American Red Cross First Aid-Safety-CPR instructor, American Red Cross Blood Drive chairman, Lifetime Max Gallon Blood Donor, past director of the Mayfield-Graves County March of Dimes and Walk America chairman, charter member and officer of the Mayfield-Graves County Jaycees, past master of the Mayfield Masonic Lodge No. 369, Mayfield-Graves County Interagency Council’s 1995 Citizen of the Year for Community Service, member of the Travelers Protective Association and past president of the Board of Directors of Vacation Club International.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Coplen Elliott; one son, Sam (Lynley) Elliott of Louisville; one daughter, Sarah Elliott of Mayfield; two stepgrandchildren; his mother, Dorothy Davis Elliott of Mayfield; two brothers, Keith (Gale) Elliott of West Paducah and Barry (Kirstin) Elliott of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Farrel H. Elliott.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013, at the Highland Park Cemetery with Bro. Rick Miller and Kenny Campbell officiating. Friends may call at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Highland Park Cemetery.
