BENTON — Rudy L. Hall Jr., age 81 of Yorkville, Ill., passed away at his home on Monday, September 2, 2013. He was born on April 3, 1932 in Calvert City, Ky., the son of the late Rudy and Virgie (Long) Hall.
Rudy was united in marriage on February 3, 1951, in Corinth, Miss., to the former Miss Kathleen Story and they spent the next 62 happy years together. Mr. Hall served his country proudly with the United States Air Force.
Rudy was very active, working 27 years as a supervisor for Rexnord in Chicago.
He served on the Board of Directors for the Illinois Fire & Police Commissioners Association. Rudy also served as chairman of the Police Commissioners in Thornton, Ill. After moving to Possum Trot, Ky., he worked 15 years as the manager of the Forest Hills Complex in Paducah, Ky. He was a member of the Palma United Methodist Church, Benton, Ky., and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Rudy is survived by his wife, Kathleen Hall of Yorkville, Ill.; his children, Richard Hall of Kansas City, Kan., Linda (Mark) Wing of Naperville, Ill., and Laurie (Bill) Cosentino of Yorkville, Ill.; his grandchildren, Misty (Blake) Hardwick, Christopher, Jessica and Samantha Hall, David and Steven Wing and Alex and Ryan Cosentino; his one great-grandson, Zachary Hall; his brother, Victor (Carol) Stateler of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his sister, Nancy (Donald) Foote of Midlothian, Texas; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and eldest son, Randall Hall.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 6, 2013, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, Benton, Ky. Rev. Randy Stacy will officiate. Interment will follow the service in the Fooks Cemetery, Benton, Ky.
Friends may visit with the family between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2013, at the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, Ky.
