Dr. Carolyn and Judge Shea Nickell
Dr. Carolyn Sue Watson and Judge Christopher Shea Nickell were united in marriage on October 6, 2012, at the Heartland Worship Center in Paducah, Kentucky, with Dr. Richard Beck officiating, assisted by the Rev. Alfred Anderson, Justice Bill Cunningham, Rev. Jerry Hoover, and Dr. Gregory Waldrop. Music was provided by Art Deweese, soloist and worship leader; Darrell Nance, keyboardist; and the Rev. Reggie LaFaye, saxophonist.
The bride chose Dr. Karen Burman Pearn of Louisville, Kentucky, as her matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Carol Holmes, Frieda Nance, Diane Salsbury, Debra Thomason, Julie Welker and Gail Wilson.
The groom chose his brother, Dr. Duane Starrett Nickell of Indianapolis, Indiana, as his best man. Groomsmen included Daniel Y. Boaz, Luis Raul Davila, John Jefferson Johnson III, Douglas A. Ramey, Buel Stalls and A.O. “Chip” Wynn. Ushers included Jerry Beyer, Bill Clayton, Randall Hardesty, James Johnston, Ken Purcell, Roy Wikoff and Tommy Wilkins.
At the guest registry were Anna Marie Nickell and Sarah Elizabeth Nickell. Greeters included State Representative Brent and Sarah Housman, and Ray and Phyllis McLennon.
The bride is the daughter of Billy and Sidonie Watson of Ledbetter, Kentucky.
The groom is the son of the late Carl Duane “Red” Nickell and Anna June Starrett Nickell of Paducah, Kentucky.
Dr. Watson is a graduate of Murray State University and the University of Louisville School of Medicine, and is a partner with Pathology Associates of Paducah.
Judge Nickell is a graduate of DePauw University and the University of Kentucky College of Law, and serves on the Kentucky Court of Appeals.
A reception followed at the Four Rivers Carson Center, catered by Laura Duff of The Pampered Palate, and with entertainment provided by The Grumpy Old Men Jazz Ensemble of Murray, Kentucky.
