SOUTH FULTON, Tenn. — Bobby Joe Slayton, 54, of South Fulton died Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He managed and co-managed three Taco Bell restaurants.
He is survived by his wife, Laquita Slayton; two daughters, DeAndria Slayton of Louisville, Ky., and DeReka Slayton of South Fulton; one grandson; his mother, Martha Helen Slayton of Union City; his siblings, Willie Slayton Jr. of Germany, Shirley Carter, Doris Slayton and Jerry Slayton, all of Union City, and Joe Mac Cawthon of South Fulton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Slayton Sr.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 1, 2013, at Jacksonville Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. James Watford officiating. Burial will be in Greenlea Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Rawls Funeral Home of South Fulton and again Sunday from 11 a.m. until time of service at the church.
