CLINTON — Floyd “Bay” Hopper, 90, of Clinton, passed away at 10 p.m. Thursday, August 29, 2013, at his residence.
Mr. Hopper retired from the maintenance department at Columbus-Belmont State Park. He served his country in the U.S. Army having served in WWII where he was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
He is survived by his daughters, Dorothy Jean Webb and husband Kenny of Clinton and Sue Ann Gorham of Arlington; son, Larry Martin Hopper and wife LaTonya of Arlington; grandchildren, Jeffery Gorham of Arlington, Kenneth Lane Webb Jr. of Clinton, Ashely Elane Webb of Clinton, SeRita Joyce Hopper of Arlington, Taylor Hopper of Arlington, Sherrie Hopper of Arlington, and Elisha Hopper of Arlington; and one great-grandchild, Lucy Dru Gargus of Clinton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Sue (Martin) Hopper; and one brother, Edward Hopper. His parents were Edd and Eva (McDaniel) Hopper.
Funeral services for Floyd “Bay” Hopper will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 2, 2013, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Arlington with David Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in Columbus Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, September 1, 2013, at the funeral home.
