HUMM WYE, Ill. — James W. Barger, 66, of Humm Wye died Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Lourdes hospital in Paducah.
He was a Vietnam veteran. Known as the “Mailman,” he was a retired rural letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and a member of the National Rural Letter Carrier’s Association.
He is survived by one sister, Donna Irwin of Harrisburg; two brothers, Raymond Barger of Delwood and Jack Barger of Tunnel Hill, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters. His parents were Glen and Ruby (Bailey) Barger.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Aly Funeral Home in Eddyville.
Interment will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Delwood. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
