BROOKPORT, Ill. — Dorothy Mae Reineking, age 90, of Brookport, Ill., passed away at 1:37 a.m. on Monday, August 26, 2013, at Baptist Health Paducah.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at the Aikins-Farmer Brookport Chapel. Rev. Larry Call will officiate. Burial will follow in the Mt. Sterling Cemetery.
Dorothy was a member of the Brookport First Christian Church and employed with the Brookport School System before retirement. She was referred to as the “popcorn lady” by the children in Brookport, because of her famous popcorn balls she passed out on Halloween.
Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Donna Land and husband Dick of Brookport; one son, Edward Ray Pearcy Jr. and wife Glenda of Mazon, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Eula (Harton) Gilbert; her husband, Bobbie Reineking; one daughter, Rosalee Pearcy; an infant son; one brother, and one sister.
Friends may call at the Aikins-Farmer Brookport Chapel from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday, August 28, 2013.
