BENTON — Raymond David “Ray” Hipkins, 76, of Benton died Friday, August 23, 2013, at Baptist Health Paducah.
He retired after 34 years of service from Case-International in East Moline, Ill. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy (Parker) Hipkins of Benton; three sons, Kelvin Hipkins of Milan, Ill., Mike Newberry of Andalusia, Ill., and Brian Hipkins of Cleveland, Ill.; three daughters, Patricia Ward of Benton, and Sandra Ben-Nun and Melissa Brower, both of Colona, Ill.; one brother, Earl Ralph Hipkins of Geneseo, Ill.; one sister, Maryland Beaver of Monroe City, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. His parents were Burl Q. Hipkins Sr. and Eva May (Reddick) Hipkins.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at Collier Funeral Home in Benton with Rev. Jim Greenwell officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Provine Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
