Gage Emanuel Buri, 11 years old, of Paducah, earned his angel wings Saturday, August 17, 2013, at his loving home surrounded by his mother, grandparents, and aunt. After a 10-year brave and fierce battle with a JPA brain tumor including six chemo regimens, proton radiation in Houston, Texas, attempted surgeries, alternative remedies, and two strokes recently, he ultimately succumbed to another basal ganglia stroke.
He was born to Karlee J. Buri of Paducah July 24, 2002.
Gage’s friendliness and willingness to help people was one of his greatest gifts. He was a familiar face at the Paducah Sports Plex and GoPerformance & Fitness where he interacted with everyone he came across, motivated, and talked to all the athletes. He also participated in their GoSoccer program for several years. You could also find him at Horses Inc. participating in their Horse Therapy program at Carson Park which he loved dearly. His greatest joy was riding his John Deere tractor on the Fountain Avenue Circle Park.
Gage is survived by his mother, Karlee Buri; his grandparents, Jack and Terri Buri; his aunt, Kathy Buri; uncle, Paul Buri; his great-aunts, Nancy Vermillion of Annapolis, Kathy Wolff (Fred) of Chicago, Barb Buri of Florida; his great-uncle, Joseph Buri Sr. of Iowa; his great-grandmother, Janie Hicks of Maryland; his cousins, Jadyn Buri, Jack Buri, and Bradley Buri.
