GILBERTSVILLE — Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Joe Ivie of Gilbertsville recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends at a reception and by renewing their wedding vows at the Draffenville Lions Club Community Center.
Mr. Ivie and the former Alice Green were married June 23, 1963, by the Rev. Bob C. Jones at Northside Baptist Church in Mayfield. Their attendants were Richard Green, brother of the bride, and Linda Taylor Perkins.
Mrs. Ivie is the daughter of Fay Green of Mayfield and the late L.J. Green. She worked in administrative sales for a fireplace company and also worked as a Montessori teacher in Indiana.
Mr. Ivie is the son of the late Boyd and Thettis Ivie. He retired after 30 years of service from Kingsridge Development and Trucking in Indiana, where he worked as a welder and in construction and maintenance.
They have three daughters: Lisa Lowery of Queen Creek, Ariz., Sherry Cambe of DeMotte, Ind., and Susan Ivie of Gilbertsville; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
