MELBER — Charles D. Allen, 79, of Melber died at 8:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Allen worked as a welder and in maintenance for Federal Materials for 13 years and also worked as a tobacco and cattle farmer.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Naomi Bement Allen; four daughters, Paula Jackson and Angela Gourley, both of Cunningham, Velda Rikel of Lone Oak and Karen Cude of Smithland; two sons, Charlie Allen of Pottsville and Bert Allen of Vevay, Ind.; one sister, Sue Swansey of Benton; one brother, Phillip Allen of Hickory; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Allen was preceded in death by two brothers. His parents were McKinley and Beulah Speed Allen.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, 2013, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home. The Rev. Rodney Cude will officiate. Burial will be in Diggs Chapel/Kansas Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, at the funeral home.
