KUTTAWA — James T. “Jug” Smith, 75, of Kuttawa died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013, at his home in Lyon County.
He was a member of Chestnut Oak United Methodist Church and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a lifelong farmer in Lyon County and had retired from Pennwalt in Calvert City.
She is survived by his wife, Linda McReynolds Smith; one daughter, Teresa Kimbro of Kuttawa; and one granddaughter, Whitney Kimbro of Eddyville.
He was preceded in death by one brother. His parents were Arch and Josephine Chandler Smith.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Chestnut Oak United Methodist Church with the Revs. Dean Weber and Paul Akridge officiating. Burial will follow in Chestnut Oak Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013, at the church.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Pennyroyal Hospice in Hopkinsville or St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
