Charlotte L. Bakehouse
Charlotte L. (Potterbaum) Bakehouse of Metropolis, Ill., was born December 15, 1938, in Rosiclare, Ill. She died Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis, Ill. She was 74 years old.
Charlotte is survived by her husband of 54 years, Leland; four children, Debbie Emmerson and husband Tom of Metropolis, Brenda Bakehouse of Metropolis, Nancy Jones and husband Wayne of Smithland, and Mike Bakehouse and wife Amy of Paducah; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Gloria Whitten and husband Leo of Bradley, Ill.; one niece; and one nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Jennie (Walter) Potterbaum; two granddaughters, Leslie Lewis and Crystal Green.
Charlotte worked for the University of Illinois as the 4-H Extension Advisor of Massac County for many years, was secretary of Farm Bureau for seven years, and she was active in the community serving on the Fair Board. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Metropolis.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013, at St. Stephens Lutheran Church. Rev. Tom Emmerson will officiate. Burial will follow in Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held Friday evening August 16, 2013, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis and again Saturday after 9 a.m. at the church.

Pallbearers will be: Wayne Jones, Andrew Emmerson, Brandon Bakehouse, Dylan Bakehouse, Logan Bakehouse, and Daniel Lewis.
