“The Lone Ranger”
In 1933, a boy encounters an ancient American Indian in a sideshow carnival tent. The man in question is Tonto (Johnny Depp), the companion of John Reid (Armie Hammer), the lawman more famously known as the Lone Ranger. Eager to set the record straight about his and Reid’s adventures, Tonto recalls the day in 1869 when he and Reid first met, and the subsequent events that brought them back together to bring nefarious outlaws like Butch Cavendish (William Fichtner) to justice.
The buzz: Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp make for an appealing pair as the Lone Ranger and Tonto, but they’re not enough to make up for a bland script and action overkill.
Length: 149 min.
Show times: 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:15 p.m., 3:45 p.m., 5:35 p.m, 7 p.m., 8:50 p.m., 10:15 p.m. at Cinemark in Paducah.
