Lanis C. (Red) Cunningham
Lanis C. (Red) Cunningham, 86, of Paducah passed away at 7:49 a.m., Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Baptist Health Paducah.
Mr. Cunningham was retired from Union Carbide/Martin Marietta after 31 years as an Operator, and was a member of West End Baptist Church of Paducah, a member of Paducah Aero Modelers, and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wanda (Farless) Cunningham; two sons, Gary E. Cunningham and wife Eydie, and Mark R. Cunningham and wife Linda, both of Paducah; one daughter, Cathy A. Wichert and husband George of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; six grandchildren, Chris Cunningham, Sarah Cunningham, Clint Cunningham and wife Brenda, Scott Cunningham, Coleman Wichert, and Taylor Wichert; four great-grandchildren, Shelby Turner, Gini Cunningham, Andrew Cunningham, and Kasen Barton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lanis Walls Cunningham and Nellie (Boren) Mitchell; one grandson, Andrew Cunningham; and one sister, Myra Crisp.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Harold Council officiating. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow at Mount Kenton Cemetery in Paducah.
