John Ellington Sr.
John L. “Larry” Ellington Sr., 78, of Paducah died at 1:52 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Lourdes hospital.
Mr. Ellington was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and St. John’s Knights of Columbus. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was a retired chemical operator from Allied Signal.
He is survived by his wife, Paulette Byrd Ellington; one daughter, Sondra Price of Paducah; two sons, John Ellington and Michael Ellington, both of Paducah; one brother, Thomas Ellington of Paducah; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. His parents were George T. and Luella Anderson Ellington.
Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Tom Buckman officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. today, July 1, 2013, at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with prayers at 7 p.m.
