Eleanor Griffin, 91, of Paducah, Ky., passed away at 9 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at her residence.
Eleanor was a member of the Arcadia United Methodist Church. She was an avid golfer since the age of 22 years old. Eleanor was a member of the Paxton Park Women’s Golf Association, where she served as the first president of the association, and Rolling Hills Ladies Golf Association. She was a champion of the Tri-State Women’s Golf Tournament and was a five-time champion of the Paducah Sun Ladies Golf Tournament. Eleanor was a Duchess of Paducah and was a Girl Scout leader. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and University of Kentucky basketball fan.
Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Pattye Bloodworth of Paducah, Ky.; brother, Charles Steinkamp and wife Doris of Paducah, Ky.; two great-grandchildren, Tamara Nichole Adkins and husband Noah of Paducah, Ky., and Jonathan Patrick Bloodworth of Eddyville, Ky.; one great-great-grandchild, Braden Scott Adkins; granddaughter-in-law, Marsha Bloodworth of Paducah, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Pat “Sam” Griffin; grandson, Jackie Bloodworth; sister, Marye Elizabeth Sikes; and a brother, Earl Steinkamp Jr. Her parents were Earl Steinkamp and Georgia Gamblin Steinkamp.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. F. Wayne Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
