OWENSBORO — Edward Lee Tunget, 82, of 4164 Mayflower Drive, Owensboro, KY., died Monday, June 17, 2013, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.
Edward Lee Tunget was born August 23, 1930, in Calhoun to the late Dave Tunget and Jennie Berry Tunget, and was a Korean War veteran. Edward was a member, a past trustee of Calhoun United Methodist Church, a carpenter, former McLean County Jailer and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and playing pool at the Elizabeth Munday Senior Center.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn Miller Tunget on 8-14-1996 and a son-in-law Jimmie Davis on 10-31-2005.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Edna Yancey Tunget; a son, Gary and wife Mary Lisa Tunget of Owensboro; three daughters, Janice and husband Roger Rice of Benton, Karen Davis of Sacramento, and Cheryl and husband Bob Purdy of Owensboro; four granddaughters, Jennifer Fisk, Hannah Goins, Megan Purdy, and Kelsi Purdy; and a great-grandson Ethan Fisk.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Muster Funeral Homes, Calhoun Chapel with the Rev. Ken Berggren officiating.
Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
Friends may visit with Edward’s family from 10:00 A.M. until time of services Wednesday at Musters in Calhoun.
