A Murray woman accused of fatally shooting her husband Thursday remained in jail on a higher bond amount following a court hearing Monday.
Michelle Baxter, 50, faces a murder charge stemming from the death of her husband, Buddy Baxter, 44, on Thursday afternoon.
Calloway Commonwealth Attorney Mark Blankenship said Baxter was arraigned in Calloway District Court on Monday and also given a higher bond amount after her prior criminal record came to light.
Blankenship said that Baxter was accused of shooting a former husband in Marshall County 15 years ago. He said the judge raised her bond from $100,000 to $200,000.
Baxter is due in Calloway District Court again at 9:30 a.m. June 12 for a preliminary hearing, where Blankenship said more details of her recent case will come to light.
