METROPOLIS, Ill. — Haynes “Bo” Bohannon, 102, of Southfield, Mich., formerly of Metropolis, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, at his son’s home.
He was of the Baptist faith, a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner. He owned 9-Mile Standard Gas Station in Southfield and served in the Civil Conservation Corp.
He is survived by one son, Richard Bohannon of Southfield; one grandchild; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Nan Swarez of Weeki Wachee, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Judy Prokes of Milford, Mich.; three stepgrandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters; two brothers; his first wife, Jeanetta Ann Taylor Bohannon; and his second wife, Sylvia Bohannon. His parents were Dorsey and Betty Bohannon.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, at the Masonic Cemetery in Metropolis with Rev. David Siere officiating.
