METROPOLIS, Ill. — Frank Thoms, 68, of Metropolis died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Massac Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Thoms was a railroad clerk for over 28 years. He had worked for GM&O, ICG, and P&L railroad lines. He was a former member of the BRAC union. He had worked at Dippin’ Dots as a driver and vendor and was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Paducah.
He is survived by his wife, Marie A. Rabe Thoms; two children, Frederick Dean Thoms and Mary Elizabeth Canup, both of Metropolis; two granddaughters; and one sister, Linda Thoms of Coulterville.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. His parents were Andreas Thoms and Annie Lawless Thoms.
Services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
