MURRAY — Edwin Jennings, 70, of Murray died at 5:55 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Murray-Calloway County Hospital.
He was a member of Hardin Baptist Church, a retired school teacher with Ivy Tech, and a graduate of Murray State University. He was a Singer sewing machine dealer and had served as fire chief for the Calloway County Rescue Squad.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Hall Jennings; three daughters, Renee Thurman of Dexter, and Shawnee Hill and Cory Jennings, both of Murray; one brother, O.J. Jennings III of Shelbyville; one sister, Doris Frazer of Murray; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, His parents were George Kerby Jennings and Dorothy Hagan Jennings.
Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. today, May 19, 2013, at Murray City Cemetery with the Rev. Ricky Cunningham officiating. There will be no visitation.
