KUTTAWA — Mr. Robert “Bob” Bennett, 70, of Kuttawa passed away Thursday, May 9, 2013, in Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.
Mr. Bennett was retired from the Kentucky State Penitentiary as superintendent of the water department. He was a member of Kuttawa United Methodist Church and a member of the church choir. He was a member of Joppa Masonic Lodge #167 in Eddyville where he also served as secretary of the lodge. He was also a member of Rizpah Shrine Temple in Madisonville. Mr. Bennett served on the Lyon County School Board of Education from 1985 until 1996.
He is survived by one son, Danny Bennett of Lexington; two daughters, Page Greene and husband Chuck of Kuttawa, Ellen Crady and husband Jamie of Murray; five grandchildren, Trey Greene, Charleigh Greene, Tristan Crady, Cameron Crady, and Conner Bennett. Also surviving is his mother-in-law, Norma Allen of Kuttawa.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Patricia Allen Bennett. His parents were Robert Dan “Rob” Bennett Sr. and Dorothy Potter Bennett.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Kuttawa United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jesse Johnson officiating. Burial was in Doom Chapel Cemetery with graveside Masonic rites.
Visitation was from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour of 2:30 p.m. at Kuttawa United Methodist Church in Kuttawa.
