Mrs. Mary Louise Rehlmeyer, 91, of Metropolis, Ill., passed away at 8:01 a.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis. Todd Sumner will officiate. Burial will follow in Round Springs Cemetery.
Mary had worked as a seamstress at Normandy Frocks and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Metropolis, Women of ELCA, had delivered Meals on Wheels, and volunteered at COPE Food Pantry and Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
Mary is survived by her son, Fred Rehlmeyer and wife Debbie; grandson, Brad Rehlmeyer and wife Shannon; step granddaughter, Kimberly Lang and husband Junior; great-grandchildren, Stefan Dru Rehlmeyer, Logan Lang, and Bryn Aubin Rehlmeyer, all of Metropolis, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Hattie (Rodenberg) Laird; husband, Albert M. Rehlmeyer; sisters, Mae Miller, Ruby Kommer, Aline Gowins, and Velma Sumner; and brothers, Roy Laird, Loren Laird, and Paul Laird.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2013, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home in Metropolis.
