SOUTH FULTON, Tenn. — Thomas “Tommy” Pruitt, 63, of South Fulton died on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Pruitt was a member of Brooks Chapel Ministries in Fulton and served as an elder and leader of Christian education. He had retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Union City and was a sergeant in the National Guard.
He is survived by his wife, Oma J. Pruitt; three sons, Darren Pruitt of South Fulton, Gregory Pruitt of Murray, and Preston “Trey” Pearson of Trenton; seven grandchildren; one brother, William “Bill” Pruitt of Knoxville; and two sisters, Patricia Hayes of Paducah and Velmeter Hines of Memphis.
He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Rose Pruitt, and a daughter. His parents were Mattie Hayes and Thomas Pruitt Sr.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Brooks Chapel Ministries Church in Fulton with interment in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. today, May 7, 2013, at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, and from 11:30 a.m. until the funeral hour Wednesday at the church.
