MURRAY — Samuel Marshall “Catfish” Higgins, 73, of Murray died at 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at his home.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, retired from Continental General Tire, and a member of the United Steel Workers.
He is survived by three daughters, Mary Elizabeth Erwin, Rebecca Ann Brown, and Debbie Jean McClure; one son, Wayne Higgins; one brother, John Higgins, all of Murray; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Jean (Smiley) Higgins; his stepfather, Odie Wyatt; and one brother. His parents were Sammy and Gladys (Rains) Higgins.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Blalock-Coleman & York Funeral Home with Brett Miles and Rev. Bill Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in Murray City Cemetery.
