MAYFIELD — The Rev. Robert Herring, 86, of Mayfield died at noon Friday, April 6, 2013, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
He was a member of High Point Baptist Church in Mayfield, and served as pastor of several Baptist churches in the area: New Bethel, Chapel Hill, Flint, Zion Cause, Mississippi, Hurricane, Bethlehem, Viola and Bell City. He was also an Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lee Bell Herring; two daughters, Cona Cooper of Bartlett, Tenn., and Cheryle Beauchamp of Freemont; three brothers, Don Herring of Mayfield, Jimmy Herring of Nashville, Tenn., and L.B. Herring of Millington, Tenn.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister; and one brother. His parents were Bob and Olene Smith Herring.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, April 8, 2013, at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with the Revs. Rick Hatley, Al Cobb, Lee James and William Dobson officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery.
