A celebration of Douglas Lee “Doug” Foster’s life will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Calvert City First Presbyterian Church, where visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m.
Mr. Foster, a resident of Calvert City, died Thursday, March 28, 2013, at his home.
A veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II. Mr. Foster was a member of Calvert City First Presbyterian Church and the Senior Choir at Calvert City First Baptist Church. He was also a member of Calvert City’s Planning and Zoning Committee and the Calvert City Lions Club for many years.
Mr. Foster retired as a plant engineer for GAF/ISP and was formerly employed at Oak Ridge National Laboratories.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Thompson Foster; his children, Jeff Foster of Smyrna, Tenn., Larry Steven Foster of Lexington and Cindy Foster McArtor of Benton; his stepchildren, Bo Moodie of Smithland, Tom Moodie of Grand Rivers and Natalie Moodie Bash of Benton; his brother, Jerry Foster of Biloxi, Miss.; 21 grandchildren and stepgrandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Mr. Foster was preceded in death by his first wife, Josie Taylor Foster; and one sister. His parents were Byron Lee and Lucy Evelyn Cannon Foster.
