Laura Nicole Forsythe and Jimmy Rex Smith II were united in marriage Oct. 6, 2012, at Broadway United Methodist Church of Paducah with the Rev. Kenneth Puckett officiating. Music was provided by vocalists Emily Yocum and Fowler Black, both of Paducah; and Art DeWeese of Paducah, organist.
The bride is the daughter of David and Julia Forsythe of Paducah. The groom is the son of Rex and Jackie Smith of Paducah.
The bride chose Miss Janie Canup of Benton as her maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kayla Forsythe of Paducah, sister of the bride; Callie Smith of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Gabbi Smith of Paducah, sisters of the groom; and Ashley Callis of Murray.
The groom chose Max Pittard of Nashville, Tenn., as his best man. Groomsmen were Michael Nesbitt of Nashville, Tenn.; Joel Reeves of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; Sammy Smith of Paducah, brother of the groom; and Hunter Ford of Paducah.
A reception followed at the home of the groom’s parents. Guest book attendants were Miss Katherine Smith and Miss Ellie Smith.
The bride is a 2006 graduate of Lone Oak High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in finance in 2010 and a master’s degree in business administration in 2011 from Murray State University. She is employed by the Orthopaedic Institute of Western Kentucky in Paducah.
The groom is a 2006 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in urban and environmental planning in 2010 from the University of Alabama. He is employed by Jim Smith Contracting in Grand Rivers.
The couple reside in Paducah.
