CADIZ — Don Gladis, 78, of Cadiz died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. He was a retired U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during Vietnam where he was active in the strategic command B58, and retired from the Ohio Bureau of Employment Services, where he was a VA representative. He was a member of VFW Post 7890, B58 Hustlers Association, Air Force Association, and worked with the Friends of LBL volunteer program.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Melloh Gladis; two sons, Michael Donald Gladis and Joseph Donald Gladis, both of Cadiz; two daughters, Jean Gladis of Owensboro, Ohio, and Elizabeth Gerdes of Clifton, Va.; three grandchildren, and one sister, Gloria Gladis of Temple, Texas.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. His parents were William Valentine and Matha Helen Easton Gladis.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Aurora with Joseph Babu officiating. Burial will follow at St. Henry’s Catholic Church Cemetery with full military honors.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz.
